Good morning from a slightly chilly new york that I love very much.
I. a book
Last Sunday, Dev and I sat outside on a brisk sunny morning having coffee & olive oil cake (very good) at Abraço. On our way home we stopped at Dashwood. I really enjoyed flipping through William Eggleston’s book Los Alamos.. the photographs were taken in Memphis and during Eggleston’s road trips across the south in the 60s and 70s. I particularly love this image (very into hair accessories at the moment) —
II. a set to admire
I don’t even drink coffee much anymore, but these LaGardo Tackett Schmid vintage porcelain espresso cups and saucers are perfect.
III. a new york institution
C.O. Bigelow Chemists was my pharmacy when I lived in new york — it was right around the corner from my apartment. Not to make my tiny pharmacy in LA feel bad, but nothing compares to this pharmacy. It’s been around since 1838.. it’s charming and has everything I need.
IV. a guesthouse in sicily
Casa Lawa is a guesthouse & kitchen built from lava in the mountains of sicily. I’m so inspired by the chef residencies they host.. the beautifully set tables for a group on the black lava beaches closeby.. the local produce... the fireplaces & exposed ovens.. it all looks very cozy. I’m excited to cook for friends at home this fall.

V. a perfect tee
Carmen told me to try on Flore Flore’s black long sleeve along with a slew of her vintage finds when I was at her boutique in amsterdam last fall and I wore it every day for the rest of the trip. Elevated crops & fabrics and beautiful colorways (I just got a nice mauvy brown tank at Outline). Flore Flore has the best basics.
