How do I even begin to write about what has happened over the past week in Los Angeles?
It’s all too raw right now. When night comes, I can’t sleep.
With every minute that passes, new feelings, questions, and stories unfold. And yet, in the midst of this devastation, I’m keeping my eyes open to beauty. And Affection Archives will continue to be it’s home.
Today I’m sharing a handful of resources for artists and those who would like to support this community.
Donate to artists impacted by the fires individually or to this group fundraiser.
Donate materials to Adam Alessi. If you are an artist who lost your home/studio or if you want to create art with your family during this time, please reach out to Adam directly: ARTISTRELIEFLA@gmail.com.
Receive a PDF of available pieces by artists affected by the Palisades and Eaton fire. Email hello@fairgroundadvisory.com.
Bid on pieces up for auction organized by Lobster Club. All proceeds go to the LA Art World Fire Relief. If you’re an artist and you’d like to auction a piece, follow the instructions here.
Join the group (organized by Rachel Shillander) of architects, designers, builders, insurance professionals, lawyers, realtors, city officials, and more, that want to help each other help our communities rebuild.
Purchase this Ed Ruscha print – all proceeds go to LA Art World Fire Relief.
Donate art kits to the Corita Art Center – drop off tomorrow, 1/17.
Continue to schedule productions in Los Angeles. If you need help connecting with talent here, please contact me directly.
If you are a studio, rental house, or individual offering discounts on spaces, equipment, or would like to donate equipment new or used (lights, cameras, lenses, SD cards, SSDs, hard drives, etc.), email contact@itsnova.com.
Participate in a print sale along with 20+ other photographers with 100% of proceeds donated. DM @austinleis if you are interested.
Donate cameras, lenses, printer paper and other photography gear to LA Center of Photo.
Reprint your lost artwork for free or make new work with LA Print Shop.
Ceramic studio space available at Still Life Studios.
Reach out to Arcadia Art Consultancy to file damage and loss claims for work that was damaged or lost in the fire.
Apply for an emergency grant through the Center of Cultural Innovation beginning January 20.
Next week will feature creative director and consultant Ruby Woodhouse. In the meantime, if you’re an artist, gallerist, advisor, designer, photographer or creative that could use support or if you’d like to add a resource to this list, please DM or email me.
xx
